About
The Beginning
I started my journey by developing projects in C to know what's actually happening inside your computer. That's stayed with me. I became comfortable with Linux, I containerize things with Docker, I keep my configs and scripts in Git, and I've set up CI/CD so deploying isn't a manual ritual.
Computer Science — NHL Stenden
I developed my technical and organizational skills by working with real clients from the province of Drenthe. On IT Hub I rebuilt the registration flow so an AI layer could turn vague business requests into something matchable. At the same time I also participated in development of a security awareness tool for maritime IT security.
Backend Developer — DTT Multimedia
I worked at DTT Multimedia building backend software in Laravel. The work was the unglamorous kind that matters: data models that hold up after launch, APIs the front-end team doesn't have to work around. I shipped features end to end, migrated live client data without downtime, and set up the build and deploy.
Scrum Master & Gameplay Programmer — ADRIFT
ADRIFT was a storytelling game built by 40+ people across several disciplines. I was Scrum master for the environment team while simultaneously writing core gameplay systems — the weather and navigation code. Running a team while shipping code in it taught me the thing I now look for in any project: most delivery problems are not technical, they're two people holding different assumptions and neither of them knowing it.
